Andhra Pradesh Takes Steps to Promote Tourism

Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have signed a MoU between them to promote tourism. Tourism departments of both the states signed the memorandum during the visit of Chandana Khan to Bangalore, who is the special chef secretary of Andhra Pradesh. She was there to discuss measures for enhancing tourism in both the states.

The proposed MoU will make the booking of train tickets and hotel to various destinations of Andhra Pradesh much easier.

According to the officials, 50 percent discount on these bookings will help increase tourism in both states.

During her meeting with C D Dyavaiah, Managing director of Karnataka Tourism Development Corporation, she proposed a prospect of extending Karnataka’s luxury train Golden Chariot into major places in Andhra Pradesh.

Khan stated, “Karnataka is a market with tremendous opportunity and we want to tap into this to maximize tourism in our state. The proximity to Andhra Pradesh and the multiple options of modes of travel make it an easy holiday option for people from the state. We are looking to expand and build this market.”

Andhra Pradesh government has taken major steps to promote tourism in their state as they are focusing in new and unexplored destinations along with the popular destinations such as Tirupati and the mega polis of Hyderabad.

Dyavaiah said, “We are extremely happy to associate with Andhra Pradesh government for this MoU and we are optimistic that this will be a step forward in terms of increasing tourism initiatives in both states.”

AP TDC has taken initiative to operate as many as 9 new beach properties at Baruva and Kalingapatnam, Chintapally, Kakinada, Perupalem, Ramayaparnam,Tummalapenta, Maypadu and Kotta Kudur.

On the top of the list of AP TDC’s list of special destinations are: Dindi, Horsley Hills, Bhavani Island, Suryalanka, Vikarabad, Nagarjuna Sagar and Bhadrachalam.
